Growing Food Where Cities Never Thought Possible

Urban Farm Tech is redefining what a farm can look like.

Nestled in the heart of Cyberjaya, this urban farm transforms rooftops, courtyards, balconies, offices, and compact city spaces into productive food-growing ecosystems. By combining aquaponics, vertical farming, and smart agriculture, the farm proves that meaningful food production doesn’t have to happen hundreds of kilometres away. It can happen right where people live and work.

For Urban Farm Tech, every unused space is an opportunity to grow food, reconnect communities with nature, and build a more resilient food system.

Unlike conventional farms that depend on vast open land, Urban Farm Tech is designed around one simple idea:

Bring farming closer to people.

Through innovative farming systems, the farm demonstrates how fresh vegetables can be grown efficiently in urban environments while using significantly less land and water.

Here, technology works alongside nature to create productive ecosystems that are practical, scalable, and accessible for homes, schools, businesses, and communities.

More Than A Farm

Urban Farm Tech is also a living classroom.

Schools, universities, companies, and aspiring growers visit the farm to learn how urban agriculture can become part of everyday life.

Visitors don’t simply observe.

They experience how engineering, biology, and agriculture come together to produce fresh food in the middle of the city.

The goal isn’t only to grow vegetables.

It’s to grow confidence that anyone can start.

Meet The Farmer

Francis Chuah

Founder, Urban Farm Tech

“If there’s sunlight and a surface, we can grow food.”

Before building farms, Francis designed water treatment systems as an engineer.

While working in engineering, he began asking a different question.

As cities continue to grow and farmland becomes increasingly limited, how will future generations produce enough food?

Instead of waiting for more farmland, Francis began experimenting with the spaces cities already had.

What started as a small urban farming project soon evolved into Urban Farm Tech, where engineering principles meet biological systems to create productive farms in unexpected places.

Today, Francis continues helping communities, schools, businesses, and homeowners discover that farming isn’t limited by location.

Sometimes, all it takes is a wall, a rooftop, or a balcony.

At Sebijihub, we believe agriculture looks different in every landscape

.

Some farmers regenerate degraded soil.

Some restore biodiversity.

Some preserve heirloom crops.

Urban Farm Tech expands that vision by showing that cities can also become part of Malaysia’s food system.

Their work reminds us that food security isn’t only about protecting rural farmland.

It’s also about making food production possible wherever people live.
